Silent Night, Bloody Night. (1974)
Aka: Night of the Dark Full Moon, Death House
In 1950, William Butler ran from his house on fire, apparently self inflicted (possibly by accident). He leaves his house to his Grandson, Jeffery, on condition that the house be left exactly as it is "As a monument to inhumanity".
Over the years the house lay empty, and developed a reputation for being haunted.
Eventually in 1972, Just ahead of coming back to the small town himself, Jeffery sends a lawyer to visit the towns elders, who have wanted to buy the house for some time. At last Jeffery is willing to sell - for a fraction of the market value - provided that can pay, in cash, by noon the next day... And suddenly a killer is on the lose.
Is Jeffery the killer? Has William returned from the grave? Why is the killer, clearly a man, calling himself 'Marianne'? And what other secrets does the house hold?

The Tingler (1959)
Pathologist Dr. Warren Chapin (Vincent Price) notices that in subjects terrified at the moment of death, the lower vertebrae are often shattered, he discovers that the tingling at the base of the spine during moment of fear is caused by a parasite... one which can only be dispelled by screaming.
Eventually, a Tingler escapes into a movie theatre; During the initial cinema run, it escaped into the theatre that you were in, thanks to William Castle's innovative 'process', Percepto!

The Midnight Meat Train (2008)
A silent and unnamed man (Vinnie Jones) is killing people on quiet, late night trains in the New York subway, but with no bodies are turning up, the victims are listed only as "Missing People".
A photographer photographs a woman minutes before her disappearance, and his investigation leads him to the killer.
Unable to convince the police, he becomes obsessed with the man, and is determined to find proof.

Curse of Chucky (aka. Child's Play 6) (2013)
A paraplegic woman, Nica, takes delivery of a parcel addressed to her mother, Sarah.
The parcel is found to contain a 'good guy' doll; a talking doll of a little boy "Chucky", popular in the 80's. Neither of them knows who could have sent it, or why.
The next day, Sarah is found dead, having apparently killed herself.
When Nica's sister and family come to stay for the funeral, it isn't long before more people start dying, because (as fans of the franchise already know), Chucky isn't like other dolls...

The Shrine
A young man is the latest in a long line of backpackers to go missing in Eastern Europe, only to have his belongings show up in an airport elsewhere on the continent weeks later.
When a journalist traces his last known whereabouts to a village in Poland, she heads out with her assistant and reluctant photographer boyfriend to solve the mystery.
Things take a nasty turn when she decides to investigate an unmoving and mysterious patch of dense perpetual fog in the woods on the village's outskirts, and finds an imposing statue that the villagers would rather she hadn't seen...

V/H/S (2012)
A gang of young thugs, who film petty crime for fun, and make money by selling videos assaulting women in the street, take a steal-to-order job, requiring them to break into a house and steal a VHS tape.
When they get there, they find the occupant dead, and many tapes.
Told that they "will know" which tape is needed, they begin to watch some of the tapes, the contents of the tapes form the 5 stories presented in the movie.

5 youths on a car-share trip to a rave in the desert find themselves stranded in an abandoned cafe / motel, with no mobile, landline, television or even radio signal.
They begin to get fleeting glances people so injured that they should by rights be dead, and are then stalked by a man/creature that reeks of death, and carries an assortment of modified power-tools

The Woman in Black
4 years after his wife died during childbirth, struggling lawyer Arthur Kips (Daniel Radcliffe) is sent to a small remote town to obtain the paperwork that his company may settle an estate by selling a large manor house.
Upon arrival, the locals are obviously not keen to have Arthur around but, despite every on stick the townsfolk throw at him, Arthur is determined to do his job in time for his son and his nanny to join him for a break in the country.
Upon arrival at the Manor, it is clear that something is amiss, and it becomes quickly apparent that the house is haunted...
