Street Trash (1988)

THIS REVIEW IS ALSO POSTED AT THE BLOG I CONTRIBUTE TO YEAR-ROUND.

Head to HorrorMovieAWeek.co.uk to see what my freind Lisa thinks about this film, and the rest of the 52 movies we review each and every year.

When a liquor store owner finds a crate of an unknown drink, Viper, in a hidden compartment in his cellar, he decides to sell it at $1 a bottle to the local homeless population.
One problem... Anyone who drinks the Viper, melts into neon coloured slime.

Curse of Chucky (aka. Child's Play 6) (2013)

A paraplegic woman, Nica, takes delivery of a parcel addressed to her mother, Sarah.
The parcel is found to contain a 'good guy' doll; a talking doll of a little boy "Chucky", popular in the 80's. Neither of them knows who could have sent it, or why.
The next day, Sarah is found dead, having apparently killed herself.
When Nica's sister and family come to stay for the funeral, it isn't long before more people start dying, because (as fans of the franchise already know), Chucky isn't like other dolls...

The Box (2009)

The Lewises wake one morning to find a package on their doorstep.
Inside the package is a wooden box, with a red button on top of it, shielded by a locked glass dome.
Later, a Mr Steward comes to give them the key to the dome, and explain the box's purpose.
They are to keep the box for 24 hours, after which Mr Steward will call again to collect it.
If at any point during that 24 hours, the button is pushed, 2 things will happen; Mr Steward will give them $1 million when he collects the box, and someone they do not know will die...

V/H/S (2012)

A gang of young thugs, who film petty crime for fun, and make money by selling videos assaulting women in the street, take a steal-to-order job, requiring them to break into a house and steal a VHS tape.
When they get there, they find the occupant dead, and many tapes.
Told that they "will know" which tape is needed, they begin to watch some of the tapes, the contents of the tapes form the 5 stories presented in the movie.

Death Bed: The Bed That Eats

WARNING:
although this movie has been tagged as "Recommended" I am not claiming it is a "good" film. It is not.
I do, however, strongly suggest you see it, and it is so utterly... mad, that it would be a shame to miss it.

A demoniacally charged bed eats people while the soul of a man watches from his own personal limbo behind a painting in the same basement.
Although it's been years since the bed last ate enough to be satisfied, there is something about one of the three girls who have stepped into it's lair that makes it reticent to make a meal of her.

Rubber

And so, for the second time in as many days, I have to try and review a movie without saying too much about it. With yesterdays Pin it was because I didn't want to spoil it, with Rubber, it's because the movie almost defies explanation.

The plot (such as it is) is simple enough; a discarded car tyre comes to life, realises it has telekinetic powers, and goes on a killing spree (!) but it's presentation is like nothing I've ever experienced in film or TV.
